Resíduos sólidos hospitalares: diagnóstico em um hospital no interior do estado de São Paulo

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar o cenário de descarte dos resíduos sólidos hospitalares de um hospital localizado no interior de São Paulo. O método empregado foi a pesquisa de campo; quanto à abordagem do problema, tratou-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa, sendo os dados coletados por meio de questionário e tratados por meio da análise de conteúdo. Como resultados, verificamos que a maioria dos participantes indicou os postos de enfermagem, com 84,3%, como os locais onde há os maiores problemas. Os principais problemas no descarte dos RSS estão nas fases de identificação. Quanto a possíveis estratégias, 84,6% dos participantes expressaram a necessidade de mais treinamentos, de reutilizar ou reciclar resíduos, e de uma melhor conscientização dos colaboradores ao colocar cada resíduo em seu devido lugar.This study aimed at analyzing the scenario of hospital solid waste disposal in a hospital located in the countryside of São Paulo. The method used was field research; as for the approach to the problem, it was a qualitative and quantitative research, with data collected through a questionnaire and treated through content analysis. As results, we found that most participants indicated nursing stations, with 84.3%, as the places with the biggest problems. The main problems in the disposing of RSS are in the identification phases. Regarding possible strategies, 84.6% of participants expressed the need for more training, reuse or recycling of waste, and a better awareness of employees when it comes to putting each piece of waste in its proper place.
