Reforma psiquiátrica e assistência farmacêutica: desafios e impactos na qualidade de vida dos pacientes

Abstract

Este TCC investiga a assistência farmacêutica a pacientes com transtornos mentais no Brasil, antes e depois da reforma psiquiátrica. Inicialmente, ressalta o isolamento e a desumanização que esses indivíduos viviam em hospitais psiquiátricos, onde enfrentavam tratamentos inadequados e métodos invasivos. Com a reforma, surgiram novos modelos de atendimento comunitário, focando na reintegração social e na humanização do cuidado. A chegada de medicamentos mais modernos, como antipsicóticos atípicos e antidepressivos de segunda geração, trouxe avanços importantes, buscando um tratamento mais eficaz e menos prejudicial. O trabalho também discute os desafios enfrentados nessa transição, destacando a relevância da inclusão social e do apoio contínuo.This TCC investigates pharmaceutical assistance for patients with mental disorders in Brazil, before and after the psychiatric reform. Initially, it highlights the isolation and dehumanization that these individuals lived in psychiatric hospitals, where they faced inadequate treatments and invasive methods. With the reform, new models of community care emerged, focusing on social reintegration and the humanization of care. The arrival of more modern medications, such as atypical antipsychotics and second-generation antidepressants, has brought important advances, seeking more effective and less harmful treatment. The work also discusses the challenges faced in this transition, highlighting the relevance of social inclusion and continuous support.
