Cosplay como manifestação da cultura pop e identidade pessoal

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o cosplay como uma forma de expressão cultural e social que contribui para a formação da identidade e o fortalecimento da autoestima de seus praticantes. A pesquisa investiga como o ato de se caracterizar e interpretar personagens transcende o simples uso de fantasias, tornando-se uma ferramenta de autoconhecimento, pertencimento e reconstrução subjetiva. Por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e experiências pessoais, o estudo dialoga com autores que discutem moda, cultura pop e psicologia, em relação aos impactos do cosplay na vida de indivíduos. Acredita-se que a prática do cosplay favorece o desenvolvimento pessoal, o engajamento social e a superação de dificuldades emocionais, embora ainda enfrente desafios como o preconceito, o assédio, a pressão estética e a falta de representatividade de corpos e raças diversas. Por fim, este trabalho busca contribuir para uma reflexão mais profunda sobre o cosplay como manifestação cultural e social, destacando seu papel transformador na vida de quem o pratica e sua importância dentro da cultura pop contemporânea.

This work aims to analyze cosplay as a form of cultural and social expression that contributes to the formation of identity and the strengthening of self-esteem among its practitioners. The research investigates how the act of dressing up and interpreting characters transcends the simple use of costumes, becoming a tool for self-knowledge, belonging, and subjective reconstruction. Through bibliographic research and personal experiences, the study engages with authors who discuss fashion, pop culture, and psychology regarding the impacts of cosplay on individuals' lives. It is believed that the practice of cosplay favors personal development, social engagement, and overcoming emotional difficulties, although it still faces challenges such as prejudice, harassment, aesthetic pressure, and the lack of representation of diverse bodies and races. Finally, this work seeks to contribute to a deeper reflection on cosplay as a cultural and social manifestation, highlighting its transformative role in the lives of those who practice it and its importance within contemporary pop culture.
