Potencial do biodiesel de amendoim

Abstract

O amendoim (Arachis hypogaea L.) é uma leguminosa, que pertencente ao grupo das oleaginosas de grande importância para as atividades humanas. Além de ser utilizado como alimento o óleo de amendoim, foi o primeiro óleo vegetal a ser usado como combustível do tipo diesel. O objetivo do trabalho foi estudar o potencial do amendoim para produção de biodiesel na região de Jaboticabal. A região de Jaboticabal apresenta grande potencial em produção de biodiesel do amendoim. Mesmo com inúmeras vantagens, o biodiesel tem um custo superior ao diesel comum e exige maior conhecimentos técnicos e de novas tecnologias para se tornar competitivo.Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a leguminous plant, belonging to the oilseed group of great importance for human activities. In addition to being used as food, peanut oil was the first vegetable oil to be used as a diesel fuel. The objective of this work was to study the potential of peanuts for biodiesel production in the region of Jaboticabal. The Jaboticabal region has great potential for the production of biodiesel from peanuts. Even with numerous advantages, biodiesel has a higher cost than common diesel and requires greater technical knowledge and new technologies to become competitive.
