Resumo
Trabalhar em um ambiente com entrada e saída limitada e sem projeção para
ocupação humana é a realidade dos espaços confinados. Fatores como ventilação
insuficiente, deficiência de oxigênio, presença de poeiras e gases tóxicos, riscos de
soterramento, asfixia e outros como explosões e incêndios são as condições de riscos
que os trabalhadores se submetem nesses espaços. Com vista de preservar a
integridade física dos trabalhadores, a NR-33 estabelece requisitos mínimos para
garantir a segurança e a saúde do trabalhador. Diante desse cenário, o objetivo desse
estudo consiste em identificar os principais riscos pertinentes às atividades
desenvolvidas no espaço confinado em unidade armazenadora de grãos, analisar
porque o espaço confinado é responsável por altos índices de acidentes, enfatizar a
importância do uso de EPIs e EPCs, relatar a incidência ocorrida em uma unidade
armazenadora de grãos localizada no Triângulo Mineiro e com base na NR 33, aplicar
medida de controle sobre a ocorrência na unidade de armazenadora de grãos no
Triângulo Mineiro. A pesquisa bibliográfica subsidiou na produção textual, o relato da
incidência ocorrida na unidade de armazenamento de grãos foi obtido por meio de
uma conversa informal com um dos trabalhadores da unidade em questão. Verifica se que no espaço confinado existem riscos físicos, químicos, biológicos e
ergonômicos com potenciais de acidentes durante as atividades laborais e cumprir a
NR 33 torna-se um procedimento essencial à saúde e a segurança do trabalhador.

Working in an environment with limited entry and exit and no projection for human
occupation is the reality of confined spaces. Factors such as insufficient ventilation,
oxygen deficiency, presence of dust and toxic gases, risks of being buried, suffocating
and others such as explosions and fires are the risk conditions that workers undergo
in these spaces. With a view to preserving the physical integrity of workers, NR-33
establishes minimum requirements to ensure worker safety and health. Given this
scenario, the objective of this study is to identify the main risks related to the activities
carried out in the confined space in a grain storage unit, to analyze why the confined
space is responsible for high accident rates, to emphasize the importance of using
PPE and EPCs, report the incidence that occurred in a grain storage unit located in the
Triângulo Mineiro and based on NR 33, apply control measures on the occurrence in
the grain storage unit in the Triângulo Mineiro. The bibliographic research supported
the textual production, the report of the incidence that occurred in the grain storage
unit was obtained through an informal conversation with one of the workers of the unit
in question. It is verified that in the confined space there are physical, chemical,
biological and ergonomic risks with potential for accidents during work activities and
complying with NR 33 becomes an essential procedure for the health and safety of the
worker.
