Com a crescente necessidade de se obter informações meteorológicas melhores e mais precisas, a aplicação dos supercomputadores é hoje a melhor opção. Os supercomputadores recebem informações e dados de diversas fontes - satélites, estações meteorológicas, balões, etc. - que estão geograficamente dispersos. Com o processamento dessas informações serão gerados vários produtos meteorológicos de mais variados usos e utilidades, proporcionando um compartilhamento global das informações meteorológicas. Esta monografia apresenta as características dos supercomputadores, a evolução da meteorologia e os melhores centros de previsão do tempo.Whith the need growing to obtain better and accuracy meteorological informations, the application of the supercomputers is today the better option.
