As
amostras.
Over the years, the sugarcane industry has been investing in research and improvement of equipment used from the production of sugarcane in the fields to the industrial processes to obtain sugar and ethanol. However, before entering the industry and starting the extraction of juice and following fermentation processes, all the raw material (sugar cane) is subjected to quantification of mineral impurities and quantification of sugars present. Quantifications are performed from samples collected directly from trucks by means of sampling probes (which may be oblique probe or horizontal probe) that drill the load and extract the samples for analysis of brix, pol, fiber and mineral impurities, as well as also assist in industrial yield calculations and payments to suppliers. High quality and accurate sampling ensures accurate information on the quality of the raw material. Given these facts, this paper presents the differences between the oblique and horizontal probes and which is the best and most advantageous to be used for sample collection.
