A eficiência do sistema de lodo ativado como ferramenta ESG

Abstract

RESUMO Neste trabalho foi realizada uma análise sobre os benefícios da utilização do lodo de esgoto em atividades agrícolas e a consolidação do conceito ambiental, social e governança (ESG) nessa área. O tratamento de efluentes é um processo que permite o reuso da água que foi exposta a produtos químicos ou de destinação doméstica, conhecido como esgoto, ao final desse processo gera-se o lodo. As estações de tratamento geram toneladas de lodo por ano, o descarte incorreto desse resíduo pode agravar ainda mais as condições ambientais afetando os corpos hídricos, e extinguindo a fauna e flora.As boas práticas incentivam um olhar consciente no meio empresarial sobre seus processos e o desenvolvimento sustentável. O descarte correto do lodo gera benefícios para o cultivo das plantações e do solo, devolvendo os nutrientes e reequilibrando o pH. A responsabilidade empresarial tem ponto significativo para o meio ambiente, pois, são as empresas e estações de tratamento que geram maior volume de resíduo, é de extrema importância a preservação dos recursos naturais para que as próximas gerações possam desfrutar e ter uma qualidade de vida. Effluent treatment is a process that allows the reuse of water that has been exposed to chemicals or for domestic use, known as sewage. At the end of this process, sludge is generated. Treatment plants generate tons of sludge per year, the indirect disposal of this discharge can further aggravate environmental conditions, affecting water bodies, and extinguishing fauna and flora. Good practices encourage a conscious look in the business environment about their processes and sustainable development. The correct disposal of sludge generates benefits for the cultivation of crops and the soil, returning nutrients and rebalancing the pH. Corporate responsibility has a significant impact on the environment, as it is companies and treatment plants that generate the greatest volume of waste. It is extremely important to preserve natural resources so that future generations can enjoy and have a better quality of life. Keywords: ESG; Sustainability; Sludge.
