Diretrizes eticas e legais para boas práticas no manejo de corpos em ambientes hospitalares

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as diretrizes éticas e legais aplicadas ao manejo de corpos em ambientes hospitalares, com ênfase no papel do gestor hospitalar na implementação de práticas que assegurem dignidade, respeito e segurança no cuidado pós-óbito. A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, utilizou revisão bibliográfica e documental abrangendo materiais de 1987 a 2025. Foi investigado a evolução histórica do manejo pós-morte, os principais marcos normativos brasileiros e os desafios ético-legais que envolvem o tema. Portanto destaca-se a importância da humanização do atendimento e da capacitação das equipes de saúde, especialmente frente às mudanças provocadas pela pandemia da COVID-19. Esse estudo propõe diretrizes para uma gestão eficaz e sensível, incluindo protocolos claros, apoio psicológico aos familiares e respeito às práticas culturais. Conclui-se que o cuidado com os corpos no ambiente hospitalar não é apenas uma obrigação sanitária e legal, mas uma expressão do compromisso ético das instituições com a dignidade humana até os momentos finais da vida.

This study aims to analyze the ethical and legal guidelines applied to the handling of bodies in hospital settings, with an emphasis on the role of the hospital manager in implementing practices that ensure dignity, respect, and safety in post-mortem care. The qualitative research used a bibliographic and documental review covering materials from 1987 to 2025. It investigated the historical evolution of post-mortem management, the main Brazilian regulatory frameworks, and the ethical-legal challenges involved in the topic. The study highlights the importance of humanizing care and training healthcare teams, especially in light of the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It proposes guidelines for effective and sensitive management, including clear protocols, psychological support for families, and respect for cultural practices. It concludes that the care of bodies in hospital environments is not only a sanitary and legal obligation but also an expression of the ethical commitment of institutions to human dignity until the final moments of life.
