O uso de biocombustíveis na transição para uma economia de baixo carbono

Abstract

Existe uma grande diversidade de fontes energéticas, entretanto o carvão e o petróleo têm maior índice de uso, devido a dependência cultural dos combustíveis fosseis. Desse modo, a liberação de CO2 (dióxido de carbono), um gás que contribui para o efeito estuda e as alterações climáticas, é uma questão preocupante que requer atenção. Este artigo tem por objetivo abordar o biocombustível como fonte de energia renovável, o qual contribui para a descarbonização e economia, diminuído os gases causadores do efeito estufa (GEE), influenciando de forma positiva o meio ambiente e a economia. Os biocombustíveis, contudo, têm se mostrado uma solução com potencial para mitigar quantidades significativa de GEE emitidos. Isso significa que o uso consciente e bem planejado, aproveitando-se do avanço tecnológico e institucional, junto com o combate efetivo ao desmatamento, pode ser um importante recurso brasileiro para o enfrentamento das mudanças globais.There is a great diversity of energy sources, however coal and oil have the highest usage rate, due to the cultural dependence on fossil fuels. Thus, the release of CO2 (carbon dioxide), a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect and climate change, is a worrying issue that requires attention. This article aims to address biofuel as a renewable energy source, which contributes to decarbonization and economy, reducing greenhouse gases (GHG), influencing positively the environment and the economy. Biofuels, however, have proven to be a solution with potential to mitigate significant amounts of GHG emitted. This means that the conscious and well-planned use, taking advantage of the technological and institutional advancement, together with the effective fight against deforestation, can be an important Brazilian resource to face the global changes.
